The drug class known as mTOR inhibitors includes 10mg pills of everolimus. They are used to treat a number of conditions, such as:
1. Advanced Breast Cancer: For postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer, everolimus and exemestane are combined.
2. Renal Cell Carcinoma: After failing with previous treatments, advanced renal cell carcinoma is treated with everolimus.
3. Everolimus is used to treat pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours that are progressing and well-differentiated in individuals with incurable, locally advanced, or metastatic illness.
The drug inhibits the mTOR pathway, which is crucial in cell proliferation and growth. Fatigue, oral sores, rash, and diarrhoea are examples of frequent adverse reactions. Throughout treatment, regular medical monitoring is crucial.
